Healing at the Cross Posts

G.E. Pember lists several trends of the end times seen in the days of Noah. Some are these: A tendency to worship God as Elohim, that is, merely as the Creator and the Benefactor, and not as Jehovah, the covenant God of mercy… …disregard for the primal law of marriage. …consequent invention of many devises whereby the hardships of the curse were mitigated… An alliance between the nominal church and the World.. The rejection of the preaching of Enoch and Noah. The appearance on the earth of beings from the principality of the air. Ahem! Has Jesus Christ subtly lost popularity today ? Have folks decided to rightly honor our Great God and Creator, but at the expense of Christ? Have we chosen a wide and safe approach rather than the offensive bloody cross of Christ? If so, we forfeit the heart of God, grieved and angered at sin, now demonstrating…

Everywhere people create — everywhere art displays — everywhere self-expression thrives. Well not everywhere! In some instances your self-realized man or woman cannot display. Not with controlling governments, controlling religions, controlling families or controlling educational institutions does the freedom to “love yourself” avail. We can all expose ourselves on social media. Hooray! Hooray yes, till we get a peek at some of the so-called “art” exhibited of others. If you are like me, you have a continual sense of anxiety about, “what will be allowed next?” or what is the next crazy item that will be applauded by the culture. There seems to be only token regard for those offended by the “freedom of others.” In 2 Corinthians Paul is pressed by this church to become angry with them. Nevertheless he pleaded with them, in letter form, to manage their own matters and issues rather than make him become the…

Blessings are upon the head of the righteous (man or woman), their:  lips feed many memory is blessed mouth is a well of life labor tends to life walk is sure tongue is as choice silver desire shall be granted hope is gladness lips know what is acceptable mouth brings forth wisdom integrity shall guide them righteousness shall direct their steps life shall be delivered and seed also desire is only good. When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted Righteousness exalts a nation Proverbs 10 and 11 above, declare the fruit of righteousness. Who is righteous? All who are in Christ. “But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness,…:”  1 Corinthians 1:30 How do I get it? “Abraham believed God… it was counted unto him as…

“Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.” Luke 5:4 “Finally he measured a thousand, and it was a river I couldn’t cross on foot, because the water was so deep one would have to swim across; it was a river that could not be waded through.” Ezekiel 47:5 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Psalm 42:7 Deep waters must be floated on or swam — They go over our head — but in these we find God. What does it mean? Waters to the ankles slow us down, waters to the knees make life challenging, waters to the waist make life serious, but waters over our head carry us away. The purpose? Proving our faith. All conventional cures; get-tough…

I’m 66 now. What have you learned? I became a true and regenerated grace-bought believer when I was 25, so I got 41 years in the Family of God. Since then I have learned, but more importantly unlearned a lot. Unlearned? Yes, I have unlearned through the many God-workings, (mainly his Word and also trials and tests.) Oh, you have learned how to use the system, take advantage of resources? Yes and no — I have learned how to understand and decipher God’s systems and ways, mostly. Tell us. Well, God’s ways, it has been said, are mysterious, and I agree. But their mystery wants a revelation, and this brings us to the “trial” or “test.” The test is this: As God brings certain mysterious flaws and sins to light in your heart, (through adversity), are you willing to honestly name them back to Him? God calls and waits. See,…

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. Genesis 6:5-8 With: Licentiousness raging. Violence prevailing. Corruption deepening; But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mattthew 24:37-39 People will be: self-loving, money-loving,  proud, arrogant, insulting, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, uncontrolled, brutal, hateful of good, traitorous, headstrong,…

In July 2002, a Russian airliner’s computer-guidance system instructed its pilot to ascend as another jet approached in the sky over Switzerland. At the same time, a Swiss air-traffic controller—whose computerized system was down—offered a human judgment: descend. Faced with conflicting advice, the pilot’s intuitive response was to trust another human’s intuition. Tragically, the two planes collided midair, killing everyone on board. “Nobody can dictate my behavior,” said Diana, Princess of Wales, in her last interview before her fatal accident. “I work through instinct, and instinct is my best counselor.” Vibes, instincts, karma, intuition, and such, guide many a person. Where do they come from, where are they going, what happens when their guidance fails, to what degree are their methods reliable? Some quotes to start: “The first principle,” said Einstein’s fellow physicist, Richard Feynman, “is that you must not fool yourself—and you are the easiest person to fool.” “I…

“Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars; She has slaughtered her meat, She has mixed her wine, She has also furnished her table. She has sent out her maidens, She cries out from the highest places of the city, “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, “Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed.” Proverbs 9:1-5 “And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:1-2 Do we know anything else? Do we bring our thoughts captive to anything else? Do we yield to anything, recognize anything, determine or build with anything else? Save Christ and…

And “I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith — as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people. That is why I am boldly asking a favor of you. I could demand it in the name of Christ because it is the right thing for you to do.  But because of our love, I prefer simply to ask you. Consider this as a request from me—Paul, an old man and now also a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus. I appeal to you to show kindness to my child, Onesimus. I became his father in the faith while here in prison. I am sending him back to you, and with him comes my…
