Romans 8:15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  Two spirits , one of bondage, the other of adoption, oppose one another in the passage in Romans. We can choose for the weak and beggarly elemental spirit of slavery to fear, or, enter the sphere of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus which frees us from the law of sin and death, see Roman’s 8:2 In another place, in Timothy, “power, love and a sound mind” oppose the same spirit of bondage 2Timothy 1:7. Romans 8:21  teaches us, “the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Liberty in this passage, manifests itself as the opposite of the bondage to corruption. The same is spoken of in Galatians chapter…

Walking at my favorite hiking trail, I spied a large bird atop a great pine tree. Four times smaller in size was a pesky bluejay, which held its ground in the presence of the hawk. A pecking fight ensued regarding the jay’s nest of tiny eggs, and instinct dictated a need for mother to protect her helpless unborn.   “And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said,” “O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!” 2 Samuel 18:33 A father loves his son most powerfully.  King David weeps for his son even though this son had conspired to kill him. A grown man remarked: “My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.”memesbams We may not believe in ourselves — but our father may. In us? Our heavenly Father believes in what His nature can produce in us — in spite of our disbelief! He’s the Father of fathers. He is Love above love. Romans 8:14 teaches: “For those who are led by God’s Spirit are, all of them, God’s sons.” …
