Love never
fails. But how do I get love? Love comes to me through grace. “Where sin
does abound grace does much more abound,” This is true love.
The operations design
of a man (inward adjustments) can be drastically altered in the current
pre-rapture era. Physical bodies will have to wait till after the
rapture for complete makeover, however. Does it mean nothing at all will
happen to the body till then, and if something will happen, to what
extent? Let’s think about what the body does for us now and also then.
The
body is our bridge to the world and our shield from it. Skin makes
contact with our external world and converses with it using facial
expressions and body language etc. It deflects that screaming baseball
be-lining my squirming skull. It senses, smells and touches and much
more.
Future body will also bridge us to our future environment
but will not have to screen us from the non-threatening new world. No
menace, no defense. There will be no sleeping earthquakes to worry us,
so, sheltering equipment will be obsolete there. Yes, we will have no
need for body armor. Currently,
in our little pre-safe world, we bone up layers of cover and hide in
them. When we get to heaven, interplay with that beautiful domain
becomes the only thing left for our body to do. Sinless perfection
constants the state of all there; no need to fear people either, and the devil
is bound up too.
Having said that, lets contemplate: heaven remains for us, now, before we go, a presently-existing
place also. So, hell does also, and so this end-of-the-age world. Hell
has no dominion over a believer in Jesus Christ, future, or now, but
relates to us in terms of others who we wish not to end up there.
On the contrary, Heaven has a direct influence over the saved person,
though he is not there yet, in terms of being his absolute destiny and
object of expectation.
Now,
this current world tries to dominate the believer but is cursed and
fallen and is suited for my body but not for my spirit. When I decide (I
can do this every day) to detach from my worldly attachments, the world
cannot dominate me. In other words, a Christian is one who does not
have to live for the sake of serving his or her physical body only. Get
it? This leaves us with a life lived unto God and toward His heaven.
What
am I trying to say? Well, when I train to fight the war in the spirit
realm, and simultaneously become skilled at having daily victory in my
souls’ operations, my body has much less to do. This war is won when we
project ourselves into our winners chair, (heavenly places), establish an attitude-value
by continuing there victorious, and begin to exult in its triumph daily.
For instance, the body, with soul and spirit in this victorious mode,
is less preoccupied with staying safe and alive, (survival), and knows
it is securely set for eternity. This greatly reduces the big-body
inhibitors like stress and anxiety and releases it’s nervous system into
rest and repose with merriment following. The merry heart does good
like a medicine, so Proverbs says. This is a reference to body healing
and comfort.
And that same Spirit that raised up Christ from the
dead will quicken your mortal body. In Romans 8:11. We didn’t know it,
but our body is tied in directly to our spirit and soul. In fact the
soul is the body of the spirit just as our physique covers both.
Quicken? Give life.
Next great truth of “body” is how it individualizes one, and identifies it from others of the same kind. This is ours both future and present. Uniqueness is in this thought. The
largeness of God requires diversity. This is because He requires an
infinite amount of revealings in order to be pictured as whole to us
finite people. Get this: we are individually one of those pictures. This
is the Body of Christ —unity in diversity.
Take
the case of a foot and a toe. Connected and yet very unique. Would you
agree? Nose, mouth, and eyes, coalesce all part of face, part of head,
part of body. The body defines where one spirit ends and another begins.
No, we will not all lose our identity in the “big ball of together” in
heaven. There is no honor in that.
This individuality of personhood inside a bigger “Body”
is beautiful, but what about the other persons? Because I have a body, I
can touch one and still not be absorbed into their personhood and
remain who I am. Nice huh? All threats of environment are gone and also
fear of the domination or manipulation of those around me.
Paul
said in 1Corinthians 9:18 “I am free from all men, and yet I make myself
servant to all.” In Christ’s body I am made for the other and they are made for me. I
don’t need to manipulate them because they are willingly offering all
they have. Who-they-are exists, a ministry to who-I-am and vice-versa.
How about that? This is ours future of course, and certainly, by faith, can be ours now.
Faith
accomplishes all of the above so let’s close and talk about the whacky,
weird and mysterious world of faith. A lady believed if she could just
touch the hem of Jesus garment, she would be healed. Guess what
happened? She was. A man was afflicted from birth and cried out to
Jesus. Guess what? He got the same individualized treatment. Lazarus,
Mary, and on and on.
Jesus constantly told little selves
“be it done unto you according to your faith”. “All things are
possible, only believe” Jesus was into healing of the body as well as
mind and spirit. Love and health and quickening are for you, my friend. You, yes, little you, are the object of God’s desire. God loves His unique creations. Let’s let Him love us together and individually too, ok?
