The Straight Path

“Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.  Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” Proverbs 4:25-27

A life of integrity requires attention to heart, speech, eyes, and conduct. J,F and B

Lets condense the thought:

Luke teaches us, For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,  Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Luke 14:28-30

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:33

“Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consults whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desires conditions of peace. ” Luke 14:31-32

J.F. and B comments “in the warfare you will each have to wage as my disciples, despise not your enemy’s strength, for the odds are all against you.”

We repeat the thought, “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:33

Beloved, thank the Lord for the Word,

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Isaiah 35:8 tells of a path without err. ” And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. “

With the Lord, our shepherd; “We shall not want.  He makes us to lie down in green pastures: he leads us beside the still waters.   He restores our soul: he leads us in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

“All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.”Psalm 25:10

“He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints”. Proverbs 2:8

Genesis 49:17  teaches of opposition, , “Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path,” Proverbs 5 :6 teaches us the wavering ways of the strange woman which hinders the pondering of God’s glorious path.” Beloved, there are many adversaries.

Lastly,  Our fight is one of faith, the goal is eternal life both future and present. To this we are called.” 1Timothy 6:12 love ya
