knowledge

Knowledge

…is a paradoxical thing. It must be acquired with diligence, but the more I get of it, the greater my sorrows and temptation to pride — Ecclesiastes.
The wise man uses knowledge aright.

The wise man studies to give an answer.

He increases in learning.

The fear of the Lord:

…Births Knowledge and Wisdom.

The application of knowledge is wisdom.

Fools despise wisdom.

With it, we get Understanding.

Vanity cycles people around and around.

Vanity is a mode of mind function. It simply thinks about, adopts, and lives out the natural mind of man.

The concept of self-expression parallels the circling mind. He is the fool of Prov 18:2. He makes wrong decisions over and over.

He has an opinion.

He wants to discover his own heart.

He has not learned how to think with God” thoughts.

“The subjective mind”

…Functions according to its own feelings and opinions. We might not believe it, but, a few years down the road, it returns full circle.

There is more, be of good cheer!

The objective mind  connects with God’s Word — we become direction-oriented. We make straight paths for our feet.  On-purpose operation the brain works in a sphere over and above the little self-taught jiggles and jives of the subjective.

“If your heart condemn you, God is greater than your heart.”

“He that walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the Lord, and stay upon his God.”

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, a light unto my path and in thy light, we see more light. The path of the just is a shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day.

Folks, the light of the body is the eye, if thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light. But if thy eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. And if the light that be in you be darkness, how great is that darkness.

So, what turns the overbearing-personality laden person into a seeker of truth? How does one escape self-consciousness? How do we stop the feelings, the guilt, impressions of the past? What quells pride? What inhibits lust?

Only by the Spirit of God Himself is this accomplished.

Jesus said, “the flesh profits nothing, the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and life.”

See, we need the light, the love, the knowledge of the Holy, the faith produced, the hearing ear.

Regeneration provides it, my confession enables it, humility perpetuates it.

Yes, “the humble shall hear and be glad as faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The seeing eye and the hearing ear, the Lord hath made them both. He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear what the spirit says unto the churches. … be more ready to listen then to offer the sacrifice of a fool.”

In humility we take sides against ourselves, we put away childish things. The served becomes the servant, the baby becomes a man, the bottle-fed begin to eat meat. The prodigal, after a bout with hysteria comes to himself. Moses finds the burning bush, and David encourages himself in the Lord.

Humility moves me out of my own head — the Word of his grace settles the matter.

See, grace brings me to the even place. It meets every need of the soul, it puts my default subjective to rest. It satisfies the longing soul, and gives drink to the thirsty. It silences the self evaluated, it crushes guilt, it lightens darkness, it breathes faith, it kills unbelief.

Every blood bought believer is going somewhere in a line. He is coming to the Father by Jesus Christ. He is heaven bound, and Christ-gaining,  He is laying hold on eternal life as he holds faith. His hope is not stifled and his expectation is not cut off.
