They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb! Oh the blood of Jesus — it will never lose it’s power. Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power, are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Would you be free from your burden of sin? There is power in the blood, power in the blood.
“Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the Passover. And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.” Exodus 12:21-23
Hebrews 9:14 reminds us, “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
“Oh the blood, Crimson love, price of life’s demand, shameful sin, placed on Him, the hope of every man.” “Oh the blood of Jesus washes me”
Friends, can we think too much on the blood of Christ? We are redeemed not by silver or gold, but by the precious blood of Christ.
Again in Leviticus 16:15-16, “Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: And he shall make an atonement for the holy place.. because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins.”
Blotted out, transgressions cannot reign, uncleanness cannot hamper — the Devourer has no place to access my soul.
Morality may keep you out of jail, but it takes the blood of Jesus Christ to keep you out of hell. Charles Spurgeon
On the back of Satan’s neck is a nail scarred footprint. C. S. Lewis
Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin? The Blood of Jesus whispers peace within. Salman Rushdie
Beloved, the accountability of every man, the final standing before a Holy God, if premised by the blood of Christ, will be glorious and rewarding.
We must explain, “it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.” “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.” “… the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.”
But, all the shadows held a tangible, living, substance and reality; the precious real life sacrifice of the Lamb of God, God’s only begotten Son. It is through His blood, shed as He came to earth to accomplish the will of the Father, that the wrath of God was propitiated, (appeased), guilt and wrongdoing were expiated (removed), atonement (at one ment with the Father) was accomplished.
The conscience of man, consciousness of sin, components of the living soul of man, infected and defiled by the inherited sin nature and the manifested will which displayed such sin, has been scoured clean of remembrance. Not just as a psychological manipulation or shadow; but in the depths of REALITY, our conscience of sin dies and a new one is birthed at salvation. The new is saturated with grace as a norm and standard.
Finally, “If our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts”
A license to sin? No, a freedom from the imposition of a demanding dictator, whose controlling bent destroys any semblance of relationship with a loving Father; of whom I am made His son. Love ya
