Job_5:9 begins: “… (God) does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number:”
Job_36:26 adds: “Behold, God is great, and we know him not; the number of his years is unsearchable.”
Then, Psalm_145:3 “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.”“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.” Isaiah_40:28
Paul repeats it: “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” Romans_11:33Finally,
In Ephesians_3:8 Paul exclaims, “To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,”
Is it realistic to say that we men fail at discerning the unsearchable God? We may try to view Him as ‘able to be searched out’ and set out to find Him in all of His parameters. His great and marvelous doings, His greatness, His years, His understanding, His judgements, His ways, His wisdom, His knowledge — all are an endless discovery. Then what?
We embark on a quest for Him. We find satisfaction in His countenance. We discover His new mercies, and He opens the scriptures to us. We discover His gems, as hidden treasures in darkness, He turns over the soil and sifts it, producing nuggets of gold.
In closing, we must never limit the possibilities that are in Him. I am guilty of this error and often view things as impossible. Often, I never even think to ask of my Father what He only can do. His love opens this door, remember:
“with Men they are impossible, but with God, all things are possible. “
