“Feeling the stress of a fallen world is part of existence. We might call this the’blues.’ Romans 8:23 teaches, ‘we groan.'”
“The blues are common to the lot of a fallen human race.”
“… Expectation of a carefree life or constant euphoria and excitement are neither scriptural nor true to experience.” Steven Waterhouse
“The fact that you have become a Christian does not mean that you cease to have to live with yourself —
You will have to live with yourself as long as you are alive. ” Martin Lloyd Jones

As people get older the tendency towards depression may grow stronger. Why? Let’s read the Bible:
” … He has given human beings an awareness of eternity; but in such a way that they can’t fully comprehend, from beginning to end, the things God does. I know that there is nothing better for them to do than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live.
Still, the fact that everyone can eat and drink and enjoy the good that results from all his work, is a gift of God.
I know that whatever God does will last forever; there is nothing to add or subtract from it; and God has done it so that people will fear him.” Ecclesiastes 3:14 Complete Jewish Bible
In summary,
- We must follow the awareness of eternity though we cannot put our arms around it fully.
- We must find our enjoyment of life In the “gift” of God.
- God’s “forever” implies the stability of an immovable force. This unchanging, impenetrable immovable eternity Is where my security lies; also my cure for depression.
In closing, Solomon lived lavishly, he did not live a life of depression. But thankfully,
He discovered the futility of it all for us. The wisdom of his gray hair Is for us to feast upon.
Frankly, most of us will learn the hard way.
But:
” … Whenever God comes, the inspiration is to do the most natural simple things — the things we would never have imagined God was in, and as we do them we find He is there . Inspiration which comes to us in this way is an initiative against depression; We have to do the next thing and to do it in the inspiration of God.” Oswald Chambers
Friends, we use this world but must not abuse it, We are in this world but not of this world. Not earthy, sensual, or devilish, our wisdom is from above. — pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, without hypocrisy. James 3:17-18
“Come out from among them, and touch not the unclean thing — He will be a Father unto us.” Love ya
To be content to be a fragrance that only He will enjoy….
Content to be a fragrance…even if it be that only He can enjoy ????
