Salvation

With His arms wide open

He rescued you and me; with His arms wide open…This line from a song rings in my heart much. When I was 25 years old He came and rescued me; from what? He rescued me from me.

We fished off the sea wall on our breaks at work. Folks caught carp and cat fish and some of these grew pretty big. Workers gathered there to eat lunch. I cared not much for the fishing possibilities this day.

“The Crack in the Cosmic Egg,”

I had been reading a book called “The Crack in the Cosmic Egg,” I really lived cracked in my own cosmic egg is why I read this book. I liked the book as it came from the ideals of some far-out mystical religious teacher and captured my attention. He was teaching about Jesus walking on the water and how we can do that too.

A fellow worker my age came out of nowhere to talk. I was usually not approached much; kind of a loner. The first words out of his mouth were “Jesus walked on the water” and he motioned toward the Monongahela River rushing by. I rallied myself and perked up to the coincidence. “Yaw”, he said “Peter walked on it too.” Now I am shaking in my meta-tarsals

Dave might as well have pulled out a gun and shot me because every word spoken from that point forward pierced my heart like a bullet. I don’t recall being asked to make a decision or even thinking about it much; it was more like being hand-fed a cosmic ice cream cone and savoring every delectable lick.

Life Raft

I was being rescued, the life raft was set out and all at once I saw myself first as the going down swimmer. The arms of something or someone bigger were catching me, however. I came to work that day in my usual fog but went home at 4PM as the happiest man alive.

O God intervention, in the field where the child lays polluted in his own blood and abandoned, God says simply “live,” in Ezekiel 16.

The random chance of a mediator rescuing, an intercessor making an appearance or a life giver suddenly showing up describes a way-out hope for most. An inkling of its wish cannot even be entertained, for the very thought brings further despair. “When will my Savior come”?

Friends, He has already come

However, hope sparkles rekindled when the question of how or when will my Savior come, finds rest in a deeper revelation — Friends, He has already come. He has come as an invader of time and space with “healing in His wings,” Malachi 4:2

He has appeared not just a living being, but a glorious life-giving Spirit, (ICorinthians15:45(NKJV).

Resuscitating persons with resurrected life, He Himself resurrects a resurrection day grave explosion. Grace’s dawning and the foundation for absolute healing, loving and ministering has accomplished itself past tense. He now wants to impart the good news of it; touching my present circumstance.

Eternity submits to no time limits

and God stands on heart’s doorstep, awaiting entrance. Seeing faith opens the eyes wide, right now, or any time. Another dimension outside of time rushes to overrule time’s dominion over a life.

To summarize, “deceived innocence,” for our purposes explains the lie of the depressed cursed man. In his own eyes he believes and justifies himself as right. Not realizing his own innate failure, he creates his universe removed from the true and real. It becomes a “safe” haven though bogus, but he doesn’t care. For a while it provides safety from a big painful world.

Oh, we have lived the deceived condition, God’s desire for rescue, the skewed value system resisting, missing encouragement, falling into depression.

But now in the nick of time, intervention. Yes, yes the penetration of The Christ into the heart chamber, and all of the deception breaks with the flood of life! In a moment, in a moment, and all things become new!
