Christians must rebound . And likewise must recover. We overcome hindrances, even hindering spirits, through rebound and recovery. We simply get back up. We forget what is past, press on to that which is before. With Paul, we press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God, which is in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
A major tool for this recovery process is truth, yes truth: the truth that endures to all generations. Another enduring is mercy, another is God’s faithfulness, another is the very name of God, which speaks of his nature, including all of his attributes.
Psalm_100:5 proclaims loudly, ” For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” And Psalm_119:90 adds, “Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abides. Then, Psalm_135:13 reminds us, “Thy name, O Lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O Lord, throughout all generations.”
Psalm 145:13 “Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.”
Beloved, he has given us eternal life, and no man can pluck us out of the father’s hands. See John 10:28. Eternal life is that quality of life that had no beginning nor will it have an ending. It is the very life of God in a man. It is the gift of God. This is what defines true Christianity, any other definition only reveals religion or self-made kinds of devotion to God.
The eternal factor bestowed upon every believer, regulates our path of life, it’s ups and downs, it’s hills and valleys, it’s pitfalls and precipices. Yes, every nuance of life has its meaning in the eternal background which governs those events which seem finite and defeating.
Exodus 34:7 is a telling verse, which reveals a just God.
“Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, “
But a differentiation,
“and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. ” Exodus 34:7b
Stark contrast, Romans 1:18 adds “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.”
Friends, many use the perpetual nature of mankind to simply window shop throughout their lifetime. These folks never make a commitment, they never own an identity. Safety to them plays out in remaining aloof from truth, and actually avoiding that righteous gift of eternal life. They follow their emotions , and miss the mark . Ezekiel_18:4 is clear , “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sins, it shall die.”
Jesus exhorted some folks, ” And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched. Mark 9:43 -44
Revelation 20:15 infers, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. “
And, Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. “
Revelation 22:11 informs us using the word “still.” ” He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. “
Believers, our gift of eternal existence enables a constant grounds for rebound in our failures, recovery in our lapses.
Revelation 21:4says, ” And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. “
O Blessed joy!
Take heart my friends, the Lord is with us. Hope is eternal. However, for the unsaved, hell is forever. Let us pray for their souls. Love ya.
