The Spirit came, a rushing mighty wind; filling us and flowing out of our belly a river of living water.
The enemy comes in like a flood, the narrows hinder flow; then the Spirit of God lifts up a standard, He flits away the mighty waters.
Martin Luther wrote in song, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God” And of our enemy he wrote — “One little Word shall fell him.”
“Peace be still,” Jesus commanded the storm at sea. “And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39
“Lord, we are weak and frail,
Helpless in the storm
Surround us with your angels
Hold us in your arms.
Our cold and ruthless enemy
His pleasure is our harm
Rise up, oh Lord, and he will flee
Before our Sovereign God”“Our Great God” by Fernando Ortega
“And he mounted on cherubs and flew: he flew on the wings of winds. And he made darkness his secret place: round about him was his tabernacle, even dark water in the clouds of the air. At the brightness before him the clouds passed, hail and coals of fire. The Lord also thundered from heaven, and the Highest uttered his voice. And he sent forth his weapons, and scattered them; and multiplied lightnings, and routed them. And the springs of waters appeared, and the foundations of the world were exposed, at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blasting of the breath of thy wrath. Psalm 18:10-15
He sent from on high and took me, He drew me to Himself out of many waters.” Psalm 18:16
“… thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.” 2 Corinthians 2:14 ESV
And there was war in heaven:
“Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:6-10
Fellows, the world knows little of the great war in the heavens. To them all consists of mind, will, emotions, and body. What a mistake to exclude the power of darkness, active on the earth. To us, we embrace this third dimension, knowing full well our present and final victory! Jesus, is our Victor forever!
Sadly, the world correctly sees that a struggle rages in the mind, in the psyche. It detects emotional upheaval and mental aberration. We understand how our upbringing and genetics affect us. We see how wounds in the unconscious mind affect us negatively. We understand chemical imbalance, and crushed soul; we diagnose the sociopaths. We’re deep, and studied in all aspects of psychology.
However, this we don’t discern; “knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.” Our knowledge, if worshipped in itself, disables us. Mark 9 teaches us ” if your arm offend thee, cut it off, for it is better to enter into life maimed…” “…if your foot offend thee, cut it off, for it is better to enter into life halt…” If your eye offend thee, cut it off, for it is better to enter into life with one eye…”
Volitionally maimed, emotionally halt or with one eyed thinking, the believer avoids hell and makes it through life with God’s Powerful hand. God rebukes our enemy, calms storms, makes crooked places straight.
“I would rather be a door keeper in the house of the Lord, than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” Psalm 84:10 We savor the bliss of His easy yoke. Love ya
