“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” Proverbs 25:25
“And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.” Matthew_13:57
Quoting a proverb, Jesus above tells a truth. Yes, familiarity of natural surroundings kills joy but unexpected blessing from unfamiliar resources gives un-before-experienced thrill.
” What good news that His purpose and plan for our lives moves in a different direction from ours!”
Yes, what joy it has been to fall into a better fate than expected. Another quote from the author goes,
“Contrary to popular assumptions, the Bible is not a record of the blessed good, but rather the blessed bad. That’s not a typo. The Bible is a record of the blessed bad. The Bible is not a witness to the best people making it up to God; it’s a witness to God making it down to the worst people.”

The “worst” people are the eight billion of us created in God’s image who have departed downward from it. Shapen in iniquity, our path begins and proceeds negatively, from day one, mostly unbeknownst to us. To be in the freefall and then presuming we are on the upswing, again and again struggling for acceptance, builds in us a dramatic life of frustration. Hunter S. Thomson reminds us:
Good news is rare these days, and every glittering ounce of it should be cherished and hoarded and worshipped and fondled like a priceless diamond.
Bad news travels at the speed of light; good news travels like molasses. Tracy Morgan
Why?
” … the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel (good news) of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2Corinthians 4:4
We ought to hate that! That “Expletive!” We should be appalled, but no, we too are blinded.

Blindness builds cities as in the case of Cain in Genesis — Cities to hide in, cities to cover our depraved state. Blindness fabricates a fig-leaf shirt and trousers. Adam and Eve pioneered the trend.
How absurd! We’re running and hiding from the “good news.”
Blindness builds religion. However:
“Where there is no revelation, I hold, there is also no true religion, but instead, mere philosophy, speculation and myth. Without revelation no certitude is possible, not even the certitude God exists. …My use of the term ‘revelation’ is restricted to a firsthand ‘seeing’ or ‘knowing’ God.” Bernadette Roberts
Beloved, religion struggles for hope. but Christ is “The hope of glory.” Hoping, performing ritual, mouthing “prayers,” crying to a capricious “God,” all destroys the words of Christ on Calvary.
“It is Finished”
Now, anna that a “good news, good news. good news! love ya
