Boats enable a person to float atop the water. Some sub-marine type boats give a person underwater access. A person with diving gear can spend several hours under water, breathing as if on land. As far as I know, however, none have acquired gills. None can adapt to an under water environment in the complete sense of making it home. A biological transformation would have to take place.
In a similar manner, the Kingdom of God presents a challenge. Not a water-world but a Spirit world, God’s domain is not accessed by flesh and blood. Again, a transformation must occur, a new-birth. Yes indeed, a new nature only can experience fully the domain of spirits, both darkness and light.
A simple analogy, yes, but the above explains many of our relationship issues as well as our discerning. Paul admitted in 1Corinthians 13, that “For now we see through a glass, darkly.”
“Friends, with limited eyesight, with partial understanding, we must face a “spiritual” universe. Only with Holy Spirit insight can we discern this current realm, in which:
…the mystery of iniquity doth already work : only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.”‘ 2Thessalonians 2:
Dr. Carl H. Stevens gives us insight, “Iniquity is at work. It affects people, causing them to lose control of their evaluations. Victory and power are directly related to our obedience to the word of God. We see a decided tilt happening. A yielding to what the world wants is infiltrating churches. Conservative and fundamental thinking is labeled as backward and out of touch.”
Here’s another quote from Pastor Stevens:
“During these (perilous) times, God is developing a remnant among His people. This remnant consists of absolutely mature believers. Christians such as these possess great mental attitudes and waste no words. This group of believers, by their prayers and their testimonies, will hold back judgement upon nations.”
“We desire power from God. Something serious is happening in our churches. Demons attack progress, and spiritual advancement is thwarted. Strongholds are thrown up by the enemy of our faith. Intensified atmospheric interference is upon us. Perilous times, powerful assaults, tremendous oppressions: They are a part of our life now. People and personalities and workers and leaders are being affected. ” from “Power in perilous Times” Carl H. Stevens
“We have to take up Spiritual weapons God has given us, carnal responses will not work.”
Friends, coming is a time when we will see Him face to face, In the interim, David wrote. ” When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. Psalm 27:8
And Paul, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. “2Corinthians 3:18
Beloved, though we are impaired vision-wise, we keep looking, we keep seeking; His face. Turn to Him, He will turn to you. You will find Him when your heart seeks.
“The word “seek” here, in Psalm 27: 8m Hebrew, is “baqash” and means to search out (by any method, specifically in worship and in prayer); to strive after: – to ask, beg, beseech, require. The Hebrew for “face” actually appears in the plural, “paniym” and connotes relationship.” Blog by Jenny Perry
In closing, we can ride on the water, we may dive under the water. The water world can be fun, even intriguing. But, When we seek Him we seek the Author, we seek the Creator. What did He have in mind? What does it mean? How do I get closer to You? I want to know you, Lord.
Through the Word and Spirit, the very person of God displays.
Hebrews 1:3 teaches, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.”
The Father through Christ has reached across the spiritual barriers to minute mankind. Only give Him all the love and attention He deserves. Love ya
