Abide

He that dwells in the secret place of the most high God, shall abide, under the shadow of the Almighty. And I Will Say of the Lord, he is my refuge, my fortress, my God, in him will I trust. Surely he will deliver me from the snare of the Fowler…”

“I will abide in his tabernacle forever.” “Abide in Me, and I in you, and you shall bring forth much fruit, for without Me ye can do nothing. If you abide in Me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it will be done unto you. If you continue in My word, then you are a learner indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”

The above are verses from the Bible that we may know well, and maybe have memorized. But what makes up the thing of abiding? How is it sensed in the world of sight and sound, it’s practical implication, it’s feel, it’s mindset? Obviously, it must be continued in with the promise of setting us free; but what is this freedom?

Many people use what we call “repression,” to handle guilt and hurts. These people become experts at putting things out of their minds, but is it right? Where do these things go, and furthermore, do they still exist, and if so, in what state? Frankly, only from conscious mind are they hidden. The lower mind accepts them and hides them from consciousness. They live here an entity of effect, nevertheless, outside of the periphery of thoughts’ involvement.

These effect the disposition, they take away the alacrity, (cheerfulness) of that attitude of mind essential for proper thought processing. This hindered mind may affect the spirit in a melancholy way, maybe in an agitated way, maybe a complacent one. Maybe, they produce a discontentment, and in this they have done their dirty work.

See, the glory of contentment, of peace, of thanksgiving, of rest, is of great gain. Man cannot function effectively with the baggage of many subtle voices, though he desperately tries. Elijah looks for God in the storm, in the wind, in the fire, but never considers to find God in the still small voice. No, quietness and confidence is our strength; but they would not. Oh, oh, oh study to be quiet.

Virtue is the spiritual mentality of the integrity of truth, and this is a quote from Dr. Carl Stevens. It finds its production from the Word of God, and has motivational ability from the heart of God in man’s heart. It carries with it the awesome dynamic of proper soul function.

It is said from sociology that a delinquent mindset will not accept responsibility for his or her actions. They say “no one was really hurt, or that person deserved what they got.” They may say, “the police are biased against me and my kind, or I did not want to do that, but I cannot break a trust.” “I will not rat out my friends.”In many ways, these defensive postures represent the whole texture of subconscious impressions. Did you know that we are not bound to use these mechanisms anymore?

The unresolved conflicts, subtle pressures, moods, damaged emotions, guilty feelings, undefined anxiety, are the little foxes that spoil the vine. But, instead we abide in that same vine, and we have tender grapes. When we abide in truth, nothing can be done against that truth. What is the truth? Truth subsists a continuing forever, and it enables me and you to discern a beautiful godly disposition of mind, that we can insist on everyday!

See, love joy peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance bloom in this mindset of truth. Did you realize the possibility of an eternal attitude, one moving above the earthly traps, dirt, stumbling blocks, and debris? The truth of Christ’s overwhelmingly thorough redemption and my acceptance of it, sets me on high. I am among the redeemed.

In closing, Paul spoke of contentment in all phases of his life. How did he get content? Was it through denial? Was it by pushing things out of his mind? Was It by clever rationale? No it was by the secret place, under the shadow of the most High in all adversities, infirmities, persecutions, and pressures. See, Paul found a shelter from the storm, ran there, more and more, then moved in to permanent abode. This is what God wants, come unto Him, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and He will give you rest.

Friends, pour out your heart, and to Him, pour out your complaints, don’t hold back, He is waiting to be gracious unto you. At the throne of grace there is true help in time of need. Love  Ya
