“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.” Isaiah 11:6
On the earth, yet “not of this world,” the righteous shall enter the kingdom;
Matt 25:37 teaches, “then shall the righteous answer.” and Isaiah 60:21, “Thy people also shall be righteous, they shall inherit the land forever.” In that day, “Mercy and truth have met together, righteousness and peace have kissed each other.” Psalm 85:10 “With righteousness shall He judge the poor; righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins.” Isaiah 11:4-5
Other characteristics:
- Israel shall experience a renewed heart and mind, Jeremiah 31:33
- The Holy Spirit will be poured out on all flesh… to indwell, fill, teach. Jeremiah 31:34
- Satan will be bound, evil doers will be cut off. Jeremiah 31:29-30
- Wicked social, economic and political systems of the Satanic cosmos will be liquidated. Psalm 37:9-10
- Unity will prevail, Isaiah 52:8
- Gentiles will submit to the authority of Christ. Psalm 22:27-28
taken from “Things to Come” J. Dwight Pentecost.
Holiness and truth will characterize the Kingdom:
“In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, ‘Holiness unto the Lord’; and the pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar. Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 14:20-21,
” …he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.” Psalm 96:13
So, with peace, joy, holiness and glory come comfort, Isaiah 12:1-2, justice, Isaiah 9:7, full knowledge, Isaiah 11:9, instruction, Micah 4:2.
Then, the removal of the curse: Isaiah 35:9-10
Then,
healing and forgiveness ” And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.” Isaiah 33:24
Then,
healing of present maladies: Isaiah 29:18 “And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.”
Then,
There will be protection, Isaiah 41:10 ” Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Then,
There will be freedom from oppression: “And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve.” Isaiah 14:3.
There will be people living in their natural bodies, and they will work, reproduce, prosper. There will be an increase of light, unified language, unified worship, the manifest presence of God, the Fullness of the Spirit. Etc, etc.
Those of us taken in the Rapture, 1 Thessalonians 4, will have passed from death unto life and be living in our glorified bodies.
So much more will characterize the coming kingdom. But, so unusual for us to believe!
A culmination, an ending, a moving on to something profoundly blessed wracks the imagination, challenges our faith, seems a dream. So was it in the day of deliverance for Israel at the end of 70 years captivity. The Psalmist rings out the joyful sound:
“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” Psalm 126:2
“after the shadows, the sunlight will come.”
He’s coming! love ya
