Proverbs 12:15  The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.  At a particularly rough stretch of road which bygone days had built, a friend gave some advice. Hearing my hopeless quibble, he asserted, “You must have a plan.” My reply was sharp, “O-K — but what is the plan?” His next words were near the most meaningful ever spoken to me. “Do you know any people who pray?” Yes, I quickly remembered some. “Well, make a list of those prayer warriors and call them up and get them praying. ” What? “You heard me, make the list and start calling them.” This brother and friend was a successful businessman. I obeyed the instructions. In a short amount of time things began to break, health was restored, and my finances had an answer with a new job. Since that battle I…

“But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” 1Corinthians1:23 -2:2 “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Galatians 5:24 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”  Galatians 6:14 We preach Christ and Him crucified? Without this real historic event of 2000 years ago,  our life remains in shambles;  because when He died,…

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God”, Hebrews 4:14 I’m listening to a song entitled “Almost Home.” Yes us believers are almost home. However, Jesus is passed into the heavens, already. Oh, our Savior and destiny-carrier is seated in Heaven at the Father’s right hand. We, in Him, are there with Him. Nevertheless, we must put on our helmet, “the hope of salvation” — because we still must endure hardship as good soldiers of Christ down here. “Let us hold fast our profession.” The verse completes itself with, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;” Isaiah 63:9 reiterates,  “In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them,…

From  a mere sociological view, “Man’s answers to the problem of his existence are in large measure fictional.” ‘His notions of time, space, power, the character of his dialogue with nature, his venture with his fellow man, his primary heroism — all these are embedded in a network of codified meanings and perceptions that are in large part arbitrary and fictional.” “This begins at earliest childhood and it occurs as Adler said: as a reaction to the child’s impossible situation.” Becker “…anthropology has taught us that when a culture comes up against reality, on certain critical points in it’s perceptions, then that culture is indeed eliminated…” Ludwig von Bertalanffy Christians are privileged to know this reality in the Person of Jesus Christ. However, fiction based cultures seem to maintain for long periods before reality sets in. Why? “…because the earth has been so bounteous. There has been plenty to…

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3 “But we often make choices that reveal what we really believe: that God cannot take care of what is unknown to us. We are not in control, and that breeds feelings of anxiety.” Dr.Carl Stevens “They believe in God, and they love Him with all their hearts, but they take on the identity of the tests they are going through rather than the purpose. They may take on the name of “pain” or “sickness” instead of “peace” or “long suffering.” And when they put a name to their pain, that is how the demons perceive the Christian. People take on all kinds of names in tests.”  Dr.Carl Stevens “Deep anxiety comes from having put our trust in something that is ultimately untrustworthy. It comes from living a life for something which ultimately will not sustain life. —placing ultimate reliance on the conscious level,…
