Melancholy

Melancholic people wander everywhere. Have you ever noticed? They’re bummed out, depressed, annoyed, and negatively paralyzed. Heartsick, heart-sore, low-spirited little people, emanate with sorrow, sadness, gloom and dole. Why and how is it this way?

Well, the economy generally reeks these days, the physical body shows signs of freshly-created pain impositions, and the barometer can’t get above “extreme crap-ful,” to start. Daily life itself can discourage but also the culture runs ahead of us, hell bent with deceitful hopes aimed directly at these lost souls. Some “mysterious” force seems to want to perpetuate the misery into eternity.

Man, how can folks continue to eat this diet, and have a smile still? Cosmos Diabolicus, you are an ugly, hateful, false god-system. The spreading of your filthy host-born emanations manifests itself plainly. The fooling days are over, now we have blatant hate-mongering, truth-twisting, God-abhorring in all phases of society. Frankly, we live in a community of horror and decadence. Enough!

Lets change the subject a bit. Did you know that horror movies took place more than once in the Bible? Well kinda. In Psalm 59 some wicked creatures are said to return at twilight time and make a noise like a dog. They go around through the city. Behold, they belch out with their mouths, swords are in their lips. WOOOOOOOO!  But God, it says, shall laugh at them, and have them in derision.

I love it, God laughs! In Psalm 2 God is seen laughing at the great conspiracy against Him and His Son. In Proverbs 1 God laughs at the calamity of those who refused His wisdom many many times and in Psalm 52 men laugh as God judges those who love evil. Luke 6:21 tells, blessed are you that weep now, for you shall laugh.

Friends, can you laugh? Can you laugh at the fact that one day God will say, “let the filthy be filthy still, and let the righteous be righteous still?” I dont mean to imply that we are insensitive to the need of men, but do you think that God will be weeping when He sends hell and death into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone?” Will we cry for the devil when he gets his fate? Not me.

In the meantime the longsuffering of God is not willing that any should perish, and this heart we adopt too. We weep with them who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. We mind not high things but condescend to men of low estate. We render not evil for evil, but contrariwise blessing. We are not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with the good.

God wishes and we strain to find these beaten ones, the downtrodden, the despaired. I want desparately to enable them to enjoy with me this final fate of their enemy. I want them to laugh with me and with the saints. The Bible says, “Now are we the Sons of God, and it does not appear what we shall be, but we know this, that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him….” I want to lift them out of their suffering.

Regardless of all, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” O blessed brothers and sisters, one day soon, He will pull the plug and we fly away. Lets get some to go with us, but lets also meditate on that day, when the corruptible will put on in-corruption, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then those who remain, shall be caught up with them in the clouds, and so shall we ever be with The Lord. Halleluiah! Amen
